From NHS Physio to £6M Property Empire: Mum of Two Builds Airbnb Business While Raising a Family

Just two years ago, Hannah Wiggins was a full-time NHS physiotherapist navigating life with a newborn, long hospital shifts, and the emotional weight of being a first-time mum. Today, she’s the founder of Creative Living Property, managing a £6 million serviced accommodation portfolio and bringing in over £10,000 per month while raising two young children and supporting others on their property journeys.
“It still feels surreal,” says Hannah. “To go from working hospital wards to running a multi-million-pound business in two years is a total life change.”
But Hannah’s journey to property success wasn’t born from luxury. It came from necessity.
Making the Leap from NHS to Entrepreneur
After having her son, Hannah faced a difficult decision. Returning to her NHS role would mean giving up breastfeeding and juggling inflexible shifts that didn’t suit her new family life.
“I couldn’t get reduced hours or the flexibility I needed, so I made the hard choice not to go back,” she explains.
During that uncertain period, Hannah came across Samuel Leeds’ free property training online, which she says completely changed her perspective.
“I watched Samuel’s videos and thought, if all these ordinary people can build property businesses, why not me? It gave me the push I needed to take action.”
With no prior business experience, Hannah took a leap of faith and bought her first serviced apartment.
“I had no clue what I was doing,” she laughs. “But I knew I needed to make this work. There was no other option.”
Scaling From One Unit to a £6M Portfolio
Despite having no background in business, Hannah quickly discovered she had a natural eye for detail and a relentless drive to succeed. In just nine months, while pregnant with her second child and managing a high-risk pregnancy, she scaled from a single unit to seven properties.
Fast forward to today, and Creative Living Property sits at 14 units valued at £6 million, with Hannah self-managing the entire portfolio.
“There’s been no leisure time, no breaks, just constant learning, sleepless nights, and sacrifice. But now I’m enjoying the benefits of all that hard work.”
Her transition from NHS employee to entrepreneur wasn’t easy.
“The hardest part was juggling it all: a new baby, a business, and a household. I had to learn everything from scratch and believe in myself even when I had no proof it would work.”
Hannah credits Samuel Leeds’ mentorship as a key turning point in her mindset.
“Samuel taught me to value my time, think bigger, and not be afraid to charge for what I do. That shift was massive. I went from being in the business every day to being above it, focusing on growth, not just survival.”
Creative Living Property: Built on Guest Experience
What sets Creative Living Property apart is Hannah’s obsession with guest experience, especially in the contractor housing niche.
“Most people think of Airbnb as just holidays, but we’ve tapped into something different, providing clean, comfortable, homely accommodation for people working away from home for weeks or months at a time.”
Hannah puts herself in her guests’ shoes, especially contractors.
“If you’re away from your family for six months, you don’t just want a place to sleep. You want somewhere that feels like a second home. We’re that family away from home.”
Each stay is personalised, not transactional. Guests can request specific amenities like air fryers, blankets, fans, or extra fridges. Cleans are tailored, and all issues are resolved quickly with 24/7 support.
“It’s about making sure they’re comfortable, supported, and cared for. That’s how we’ve built such a strong reputation.”
Creative Living now supports over 50 contractors per month alongside insurance clients, relocators, and leisure guests across the UK. The business also offers short-term stays in Cornwall and has branched internationally with a holiday home in Alicante, Spain.
The Woman Behind the Brand
Balancing motherhood and business is no easy feat, but Hannah refuses to entertain mum guilt.
“My kids are loved, valued, and cared for. I’m proud they have a strong mum and a supportive family showing them what’s possible. That’s more valuable than anything.”
As the first entrepreneur in her family, Hannah has had to lead by example.
“I got tired of asking for two days of annual leave to have a weekend away. I knew I wanted more, not just for me but to build a legacy for my kids.”
Her advice to mums stuck in jobs they’ve outgrown:
“If you’ve got an idea for a side hustle, explore it. Don’t lose yourself in motherhood. There is sacrifice, yes, but there’s also freedom, purpose, and pride. Your kids will thank you for taking the leap.”
What’s Next for Creative Living Property
Hannah’s next big move is hotel acquisition and growing her reach across the UK.
“I’m excited about scaling into bigger projects. Hotels will allow us to create even more personalised contractor and workforce accommodation. It’s a niche that’s still under-served in hospitality.”
Over the next five years, she plans to grow Creative Living Property to 50–75 units, specialising in mid to long-term contractor housing nationwide.
“We want to continue bridging the gap between work and comfort. If you’re away from home, you deserve more than just a bed, you deserve care, consistency, and a great experience.”
Support, Collaboration, and Paying It Forward
A huge turning point in Hannah’s journey was enrolling in the Samuel Leeds Academy, where she found not only education but community.
“That support changed everything. It gave me the confidence to keep going even on the hardest days. Surrounding yourself with the right people is everything.”
She’s now passionate about collaboration, actively inviting landlords and investors to partner with Creative Living Property and grow alongside her.
“Property is a people game. The better your relationships, the better your business. We’re always open to working with others who share our values.”
Final Words: “Anything Is Possible”
Reflecting on her transformation, Hannah shares a message she hopes will inspire others: “I want people to see what’s possible. If I can do this with no business background, a young family, and countless hurdles, so can they. If I could go back and tell myself one thing, it would be that this is all worth it. Every sleepless night, every sacrifice, it’s all leading somewhere. Enjoy the hustle because what’s waiting on the other side is incredible.”
